Alpha-Cedrene functions as a potent agonist of Olfactory Receptors (ORs), leading to significant increases in cAMP levels in muscle and fat cells. It is included at an effective dosage to enhance skeletal muscle mass and strength by promoting muscle protein synthesis while also exhibiting anti-catabolic and lipotropic properties. It is, essentially, an alternative to the majority of synthetic androgens.
In tests conducted with muscle cells in vitro, alpha-cedrene stimulated the formation of muscle fibers. This effect was observed to be associated with increased activity of anabolic signaling molecules such as mTOR and Akt, as well as elevated concentrations of IGF-1 and decreased levels of myostatin.
